History Society
The UKC History Society provides all students of the University with the opportunityto remember the reasons why they wanted to study history in the first place; with screenings of films and documentaries, guest speakers from the University's leading experts and from the local community. Furthermore, the society provides the forum for students and lecturers to meet on an informal basis and talk about their interests in periods of history, and talk to student representatives about developments they would like to see within the department. Finally, the society is a chance for history students to meet up with other history students and have a good laugh, socialize and maybe talk a bit about about history.
Meetings
Meetings are held every Tuesday of the Term in ELT2 meetings last for about an hour depending on the event, followed by drinks in Rutherford Bar to chill out with the speakers and catch up with news within the history department, and to discuss what students want to do within the society forum.
