History Society
The UKC History Society provides all students of the university the opportunity to remember the reasons why they wanted to study history in the first place with a variety of events including screenings of films and documentaries; pub quizes; debates; guest speakers from the university and from the local community; as well as the annual trip abroad. The society provides the forum for students and lecturers to meet on an informal basis and talk about their interests in periods of history, and the opportunity to talk to student representatives about developments they would like to see for the department. Furthermore, the society is a chance for history students to meet up with other history students and have a good laugh, socialise and maybe even talk a little about history.

Meetings for the History Society are held every Tuesday evening in ELT2 at 8pm and last for around an hour depending on the event, followed by drinks in Rutherford bar to chill out with the speakers as well as other history students, catch up with news within the history department, and to discuss what students to do within the society forum.
