Kent MUN
Every year over 200,000 young people, university and school students alike, come together in conferences across the globe to share their passion for international affairs, the art of diplomacy, and the principles of the United Nations. Representing countries from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, they gather to discuss some of the most pressing and intriguing problems that confront the world today. Together, they engage in lively debate, searching for solutions to the complex conundrums of contemporary international politics; and in doing so, hone and perfect their skills of diplomacy and debate
The Kent Model United Nations society holds weekly meetings were we simulate the committees of the UN debating resolutions and preparing our members for the key goal of our society attending conferences. The society attends several conferences a year sending well organised delegations of students numbering form 5 students to 25. These conferences are an experience like no other with the ability to meet and work with people from across the world, diplomacy and compromise are key to achieving your goal of passing a UN resolution, it is hard work but the sense of achievement is unmatched.
The University of Kent is a well respected member of the world Model UN and our members have won awards for their out standing contributions from both Oxford and Cambridge universities , Imperial college London several times and from Harvard university at the prestigious world MUN held last year in Geneva
