The Psychology Society is one of the University's most successful academic societies attracting members from all years of Psychology students and a wide variety of other subject areas too.
The Society has much to offer this year, building on the success of previous years and with the addition of some new ideas too! Our main aim is to make Psychology interesting and accessible to all students. Our lectures and documentaries cover contemporary Psychological issues and have emphasis on how the study of Psychology is applied in the real world.
This year we are expecting to hear accounts from a Clinical Psychologist; an Educational Psychologist; the families of sufferers of psychological disorders such as ADHD and Autism; as well as an update on current issues from some of the current researchers here at Kent. Meetings will be interactive with an opportunity to ask questions to people who are involved in various Psychological careers.
We also include relevant information about the British Psychological Society (BPS) and encourage Psychology students to become student members, a must have for anyone considering a career in Psychology.
If you are interested in a career in Psychology this is a great opportunity to find out which options are available to you; what it's really like doing the job and hints and tips of how to get your foot in the door.
You don't have to be studying Psychology to join this society; in fact topics of interest this year link well to other subject areas.

It's good to have a break from the intensities of study with a different subject which anybody can appreciate with no background knowledge of the subject required. In previous years we have had very enthusiastic members from the following subjects which are closely related: Law, Criminology, Business, Medicine, Biology, Sociology and many more.
All this, and a great opportunity to meet both other students from all years, including Post-grads and members of staff, and Psychologists in the real world. It's a great opportunity to make new friends and ask questions to people who have been there before you.
