jobshop@kent advertises vacancies throughout the local area. Detailed below are approximate public transport travel times from Canterbury to the main local towns where we advertise positions. There are obviously jobs in places in-between these, some of which will be stops on the bus or train. If the area is not accessible by public transport, we endeavour to let you know in the advert. If you do not know where a particular town is, please contact a member of the jobshop@kent team and we will let you know.
Travelling from Canterbury:
Whitstable – approx 15 minutes on the bus from campus
Herne Bay – approx 30 minutes on the bus from campus
Faversham – approx 15 minutes on the train from Canterbury East
Ashford – approx 30 minutes on the train from Canterbury West
Ramsgate – approx 20 minutes on the train from Canterbury West
Margate – approx 25 minutes on the train from Canterbury West
Gillingham – approx 35 minutes on the train from Canterbury East
Chatham – approx 40 minutes on the train from Canterbury East
Dover – approx 25 minutes on the train from Canterbury East
Folkestone – approx 50 minutes on the train from Canterbury East or West
Medway covers the towns Gillingham, Chatham, Rainham and Rochester. To get to the Medway campus, you will need to take a train to Chatham and then a bus to the campus.
Thanet covers the towns Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Margate.
