# CLASS TIMES

Monday: 19:00-20:00 Beginners. All Welcome. Main Sports Hall


Monday: 20:00-21:00 Sparring. All Welcome. Main Sports Hall


Tuesday: 18:00-20:00 Advanced. Small Sports Hall


Thursday: 19:00-20:00 Beginners. All Welcome. Main Sports Hall


Thursday: 20:00-21:00 Squad Training. By Invitation Only. Small Hall Balcony

# SPORTS CENTRE MEMBERSHIP
##

Like all sports clubs at Kent University that use the sports centre facilities, you MUST be a member of the centre to train at classes otherwise they will charge you £3.50 per class. Membership for the year is usually around £120 and includes unlimited usage of ALL the facilities. Again, you need this for ANY sports club or society at UKC that uses the sports centre for indoor training.

# NEW MEMBERS AND BEGINNERS

If your just thinking of trying it out, here's some quick tips and answers to common questions::

-> Come in something loose and comfortable, e.g. tracksuit bottoms and t-shirt
-> If your struggling with handwraps, don't waste training time! Practice doing them at home (Youtube?)
-> Bring a bottle of water, but don't drink too much during class
-> Make sure you've eaten well in the day, but don't eat within 40 minutes of class
-> Bring a friend, bring housemates, bring coursemates!
-> Everyone was a beginner once! Don't be shy or embarrassed!
-> Don't try to compete with other members, take things slowly until you feel comfortable. Thats what beginner sessions are for!
-> Try to talk to at least 1 new person each class!
-> We have an even 50/50 mix of guys and girls at all classes
-> You don't need to be super fit to start training
-> Girls - don't worry you wont get big manly muscles! You will get tight and toned though
-> Guys - if you work hard, you WILL get big manly muscles and a 6 pack
-> You don't need to buy any equipment, the club owns all our own kit
-> Do not wear ANY jewellery in class for your own safety
-> We train in barefoot (not socks) or you can buy specialist martial arts trainers (Adidas TKD but lots of cheaper versions)
-> The first week of the first Term is completely free! (Club membership and sports centre membership)
-> As a club, we organize socials at least once a fortnight. In the first term, once or twice a week!
-> Unlike other clubs, we don't force you to get wasted on alcohol on initiations or socials (but you are welcome to!)

Please make sure you print and complete the Health Questionnaire located at www.ukckickboxing.co.uk/ukc-kickboxing-club/ and bring it to the next session along with your receipt for insurance.
