Kent University Conservative Association
Founded in 1965 KUCA is the Conservative Party representation at the UniversityofKent. KUCA provides a forum for debate for Conservatives, and those who want to learn about the Conservative Party.KUCA encourages Parliamentary debates with other KentUniversity political parties and single-issue pressure groups, whilst also having internal debates amongst its own members.KUCA regularly supports and canvasses for KentCounty and Canterbury City Conservatives in the local area.KUCA hosts many social events during the academic year; these range from black tie events to fancy dress bar crawls.
In October 2006 KUCA achieved an unprecedented feat in managing to get candidates elected to the Union Council and Senate. This was an excellent exercise in making KUCA the most vocal political society on campus. It is our aim to continue to get KUCA members elected to Kent Union as Conservatives, running under a Conservative manifesto.
Whilst the Conservative Party nationally is changing all the time, the Conservatives still maintain their core beliefs in nationhood, freedom, democracy, community, capitalism, choice, and fiscal conservatism.
