The Musical Theatre Society is a performing arts society focusing on singing, dance and drama. We have fantastic social events and trips to see West End shows in London so whether you prefer performing, being back stage or just want to meet new people, there is something for you. Of course, all performers need a back stage team, so if you have any interest in sound and lighting, production management or making costumes we would love to hear from you. We also have an orchestra and are in need of anyone who can play an instrument. We also offer vocal and performance training for those who are less confident with their performing. Everyone is welcome!
We have two showcases in the Autumn term:
Fresher’s Showcase - exclusively for

Fresher's to the society and will focus on different aspects of love in musicals:

5th November and 11th November in Virginia

Woolf Lecture Theatre

'Risqué Business' Showcase - a hilarious showcase which is open to everyone and will focus on politically incorrect and provocative songs from musical theatre.
20th and 21st November in Virginia

Woolf Lecture Theatre

In the spring term we perform a full musical which this year will be ‘Fiddler on the roof’. Auditions will be in week 9.
1st, 2nd and 3rd April at the Playhouse Theatre in

Whitstable.

It is £4 to join for the whole year which will also give you a discounted rate for tickets for showcases.
