Eliot Sports Officer- Theo Benneworth

Theo
Hey everyone! I'm Theo, the Eliot JCC Sports Officer for 2007/08. This is my fourth year as a member of the JCC and up until now my most notable contribution has been as the front end of the cow in the 2005 panto- but that's all about to change! I am looking to build upon the excellent work carried out by my predecessors in the role, most recently Miranda Brown and Pete Biggenden.
I love a nice bit of sport, so i'm looking forward to playing my part in developing sport at the University of Kent. I believe that many people feel university sport is only for the elite few, so I aim to change this perception and help to get as many Kent students involved in sport as possible, regardless of the level.
This year I am also the Vice Captain of Eliot FC, one of our college's two teams taking part in the College Football League. The past few years have seen this league increase in profile, quality and popularity. I aim to continue this development, as well as helping to extend college and intra-mural sport beyond the football pitch into other sports.
In 2007/08, I look forward to working with everybody involved in sports development at the University of Kent, in order to achieve the ambitious and exciting goals set by Sports Sab Tom Marsh. In addition to this, my personal ambition is to get as many students as possible (especially all those with ELIOT on their Kent cards!) participating in and enjoying their sport.
All the best for a fantastic year,
Theo
