The Ice Hockey Club is a new club found at the University of Kent in 2009. We welcome everyone interested in ice hockey to join the club. There is no need for a background in ice hockey, as some of the members have never even skated on ice before.
We have training sessions once a week. The team of the club, The Kent Knights, are also entering a British Universities Ice Hockey Association (BUIHA) league. The team plays 6-8 games depending on the success. There is minibus transportation organised from the university to and back from the ice rink for all events.
On the side we organise hockey movie nights, skating trips to the Gillingham ice rink, and socials in town and on campus. We are a club with many nationalities, including Finnish, Swedish, Canadian, Swiss, as well as English players. The international atmosphere of the club is friendly and unique.
Please, feel free to come on ice with us or watch the ice hockey movies. You can contact Roope Elojärvi for more information at rre2@kent.ac.uk.
