Sports Fed Exec- Caroline Robbins

Firstly, the basics about me:

Name- Cai

Course - Drama and Theatre Studies (3rd of 4 years)

Other - Cricket Vice-chair for the past and present year

- passionate about sport and what to see it and you succeed.

Now on to more exciting things - what I want to achieve as your Sports Fed. Exec.: Most importantly it is my aim to be a friendly face around campus that everyone feels able to approach with questions, for advice or to offer suggestions to. For me to do my job you have to be able to talk to me, if you don’t feel you can I have failed!
To make this possible I will be a visible presence around campus and attend committee meetings if and when you so wish. I also aim to attend as many matches and events put on by clubs as I can. This, hopefully, will not only make communication between you and me easier, but also that between you and the Sports Sab. and between clubs so you can share ideas, experience, resources and publicity so enabling you to help each other to succeed. I also hope this approach will promote smaller clubs and highlight the diversity that is Kent Sport.
Another aim I have is to increase participation in all sports, and to give all clubs the same voice. I hope to achieve this by building a strong relationship with the College Sports Officers, so inter-college sports and other social sporting events can be pushed to allow everyone to get involved. To do this it will be important to take full advantage of all the media that is available to us here at Kent, including CSR, the inQuire, Freshers week andOnline membership. I also hope to aid this by adding weight to the ‘Free Wednesday’ campaign as I am very aware that many people who wish to take part in sport feel they are unable to due to course commitments. It is my firm believe that no-one should have to choose between sport and their course, so it is my aim to make sure no-one has to.

Basically I want to be there you, allow you to play sport and to make the Sports Fed. Exec. into something you feel is supporting you in the best way possible. You elected me so make me work – for you and Sport at Kent!
