Volunteering Committee
The Volunteering Committee was established in 2005-6, and consists of elected student volunteers each representing a different demographic of student volunteering.
The committee exists to monitor and review volunteering activitiy, approve applications to the Volunteering Development Fund, offer recommendations concerning projects, the KSCV or any other area of volunteering, and generally help volunteering remain focussed on student needs.
Elections occur in October, and all registered student volunteers are given the opportunity to stand and vote. The Committee is chaired by the Student Activities Officer.
The Committee meets at least three times a term. If you are interested in joining the committee, or want to find out more, please contact James Bull on union-activities@kent.ac.uk
Volunteering Project Development Fund
Each year Kent Union Volunteering sets aside a pool of money that students can apply in order to raise monies to help fund student led volunteering projects on campus. Each application needs to meet the guidelines (see below) and present their application to a meeting of the Volunteering Committee, who will decide if and how much money to award the project.
If you think you have a project, and are looking for funding, have a look at the criteria outlined below, and come and have a chat with a member of volunteering staff!
