Student Funding
Student funding is a complex subject area. Your own personal circumstances and the type of course you are doing - e.g. undergraduate or postgraduate - determine the amount of money you are entitled to, where you need to apply for funding and whether you will get a local education authority grant and/or loan. Some students are entitled to university bursaries.
There are many very useful web sites that provide a comprehensive guide to what funding is available from whom and how to apply. You can also download leaflets from these web sites.

ACCESS TO LEARNING FUND
It is very likely that your student support will not be enough to cover your essential living costs, so you may need to consider income from other sources such as part time work and the Access to Learning Fund. You can download an application form and get more information or get one from the Student Financial Aid Office in the Registry or from the Student Advice Centre.
To make an application you will need an appointment with a Student Adviser, who will go through the completed form with you and submit your application to the Student Financial Aid Office. You must also provide evidence to support your application.
THE SOONER YOU APPLY, THE BETTER
Access Students
There is a fairly small fund available to Access Students called the Learners' Support Fund. This fund is to assist with books. travel and childcare costs, but NOT fees. Application forms are available from Maggie Davies, Marlowe Building, Room 6
