What is a student rep?
Kent Union represent students at university, local and national level and central to this representation system is YOU! Student representatives have the opportunity to meet with staff from across the University and have a say in the student learning experience at Kent. Known collectively as course reps these representatives are elected in October and are responsible for collecting the views of student on their course, meeting with staff to discuss these issues and feeding back the outcomes to their peers. University staff will consult with course reps on lots of important issues such as teaching resources and course material, it is great that students can have a say in their learning environment.
How can I get involved?
To become a course rep you will need to complete a nomination form which will be available from the 25th September, you can download this form from the Kent Union website or pick one up from the Student Activities Centre. You need to return this form before 3rd October when nominations close and the results of the elections will be announced on the 17th October.
Why should I get involved?
It is really important that you have a say in your education whilst at University and becoming a course rep is one of the most effective ways of making sure this happens. Volunteering as a course rep will look great on your CV and you will meet loads of new friends as there are over 250 course reps at the University of Kent.
