Postgraduate Events for Welcome Week
Tues 23rd September
PM (afternoon)
One of the highlights of Welcome Week, join Kent Union on the hill between Eliot and Rutherford College from 3pm for an afternoon of live entertainment. This is a free event open to everyone.
PM (evening)
Come along to Woody's bar for an evening of comedy. There will be a selection of local talent on stage and a headline act to complete the night. Enty is free.
Wed 24th September
AM
In the morning the University will be hosting postgraduate welcome talk meetings (details on time and location to follow shortly)
PM (afternoon)
From midday Kent Union will be hosting a BBQ located in the Parkwood residential area (near Woody's Bar) for all new postgraduate students. It will be an opportunity for all new postgraduate students to get to know each other a little bit better.
If you are new to the local area then why not take advance of a free tour of Canterbury organised by Kent Union. Welcome Week helpers will be leading the tours which will depart from the BBQ at 2pm and will pick up other students from the Virginia Wolfe college on the way into Canterbury city centre (returning around 4pm).
PM (evening)
From 6pm Kent Union will be hosting a tapas and wine reception in Rutherford Bar. The event is another opportunity to mingle with fellow new student, plus there will be free samples of the bar’s new tapas menu to try out.
Thurs 25th September
PM (afternoon)
Kent Union will be hosting the Welcome Week Societies fayre from midday. Visit Eliot dining hall and the marquee situated on Eliot car park to find out more about all the societies that are available to get involved with.
Fri 26th September
PM (afternoon)
Kent Union will be hosting the Welcome Week sports and community fayre from midday. Visit Eliot dining hall and the marquee situated on Eliot car park to find out what sporting and community activities you could get involved with.
PM (evening)
Join fellow postgraduate students for a tour of 'Canterbury by night' and get an insight into all the best places to socialise. We will departing from outside the Virginia Wolfe College at 7.30pm.
