Course Reps represent students to the staff in their departments at Staff-Student Committee meetings.
They meet at least twice a term, giving students the chance to raise concerns they have with their course through their representatives. Every course has at least one Course Rep per academic year.
What do course reps do?
Raise student problems at staff-student committee meetings.
Deal with issues including library resources, module choice, timetable / exam clashes, personal tutorial support, anonymous marking, assessment feedback etc.
Keep you updated about the outcome of any issues that they raise on your behalf.
Provide a link between staff and students.
Staff-student committee
Every department has a staff-student committee meeting which acts as a forum for discussion between students (course reps) and academic staff. They should allow for academic and non-academic discussions.
Who is my Course Rep?
If you do not know who your course rep is, and you would like to contact them, please email r.evans@kent.ac.uk with your course and year.
How do I become a Course Rep?
At the beginning of term 1, all students will have the opportunity to stand for the position of course representative. Look out for emails, posters and flyers for more information.
