How to write a motion
Motion title
Proposer
Which will be yourself
Seconder
Which will be a secondary person who believes in the motion outcome
Motion Body
A motion should be split into 2 or 3 sections. Motions have to be detailed enough to say what will happen and how it will happen, but they also need to be brief.
Notes
This is where you include all the information that is background to your motion and would convince someone that it is a good idea. This section is intended for purely factual statements.
Believes
This is a section where you can introduce beliefs that you think support your argument and that the Council should believe in. When the motion is passed the Council now officially believes that.
Resolves
This is the part which states what should happen next, there are a few different options:
1. Mandate an officer to do something
2. Change a procedure
3. Register a motion of no-confidence in an officer (for which you need 10 signatures)
