Union Council is the governing body of Kent Union.

senate

It meets every three weeks on Thursdays at 6pm in the Senate Building and functions as the Union's 'parliament', in that all of the members represent a particular group. Whether it's students from a particular site or college, or a particular department or a group with specific representation needs (e.g. Women's officer and Students with Disabilities).

Any student can attend and speak at Union Council, but you must be elected to a particular position to have a vote.

Union Council agrees and sets policy throughout the year and monitors the Union's day-to-day operations and finances.

Council consists of the following full members:

The Union Chair and 2 Vice Chairs
The 5 Sabbatical Officers
The Part-Time Representative Officers
