Mountaineering

Kent mountaineering (UKCMC) is a club which encompasses Hiking, Rock climbing, Bouldering and Orienteering.

It is a brilliant way to see England and Wales as trips occur regularly which include destinations such as the Peak District, the Lake District and Snowdon.

It is an enjoyable way of improving your overall fitness, as climbing works out the entire body and improves stamina. A lot of the people who join the club are afraid of heights but they overcome this fear due to the safe and encouraging nature in which they are when they face this fear. However, if the rock climbing is too daunting then the hiking and orienteering will keep you busy.

So if you are someone who prefers to spend their time around relaxed people who enjoy an eventful social life, the outdoors and the challenge of a rock face or a map then mountaineering is the club for you.

We climb twice a week.

Mondays - Herne Bay from 7.00 - 9.00pm meeting at the sports centre at 6.30pm

Thursdays - Sports centre from 7.00 - 9.00pm

After each climbing session is the compulsory visit to the pub :)
