Committee goals and/or purpose

We are a committee of postgraduate students who volunteer to make sure you get the most out of your time at Kent and have fun!

We provide co-curricular opportunities for postgraduate students through events, activities, sports, and volunteering opportunities, including running Welcome Week during Autumn Term, where over 1500 students came to our series of events in September. Since Welcome Week, we have helped organise a various other events, including a Thanksgiving Dinner, a session on how to apply for a PhD and lots of fundraising opportunities.

We also promote the views and needs of postgraduates students by working closely with the Graduate School, Kent Union and Woolf College Master to improve welfare and education for you at the University of Kent. So far this year, we have been campaigning on a wide number of issues from getting bins installed in the seating area in Woolf College to a covered outdoor area.

The KGSA is student led, run by postgraduates for postgraduates, and all our committee roles are elected annually. If you’d like to get involved, please come to one of our events or to the common room to relax with other postgraduates. If you have any questions, please drop into the KGSA Office in Woolf (we are based in the office next to Woolf Lecture Theatre).

We hope to see you at one of our future events
