Democracy is at the heart of Kent Union. Whether it’s campaigning for a better academic experience or ensuring you’re represented in your course, campus or community, we put the student voice first in everything we do.
This year, the Democracy Review was passed that changed the way we run democracy at Kent Union. ChangeIt enables all students to submit and vote on ideas online, while our campaign forum will ensure all successful ideas will be worked on by our dedicated campaign teams. Our student committee will oversee changes to our constitution and bye-laws, and KTV Question Time, a live panel for students to hold their elected Officers to account, has already been a huge success since 2015.
ChangeIt! is our democratic structure which allows you to make Kent Union, your Union.
From what we stock in Essentials, the events we run on campus, to the campaigns we support at local and national level…you have the power to submit a change, no matter how big or small, and all through ChangeIt!

Digital Rep is our feedback forum, whether positive or negative, which allows any student to get their voice heard.
It has already been utilised to improve the academic interests of all, and generally improving life whilst at the University of Kent.
