Kent Union offers a wide variety of volunteering opportunities and one of the most popular is Welcome Helpers; last year over 200 students took on the role of Welcome Helper! Welcome Helpers play an absolutely vital role in supporting new students and helping them settle into University life.

We are looking for Welcome Helpers to help during Arrivals weekend and Welcome Week in September 2017. This will be a great experience and a fantastic way to develop key skills, meet new people and be part of a new student’s first experience of the University.

Welcome Helper training will take place on Friday 15th September. The training is compulsory if you are intending to volunteer during Arrivals Weekend.

Welcome Helper Role Description

Roles include:
  • Helping new students move into campus accommodation
  • Provide assistance and information on the campus and colleges
  • Encourage participation in Union Life
  • At least 10 hours of volunteering hours including the training day
