Drop-in sessions are fifteen minutes long, available Monday - Friday, 10am - 12 midday and 1pm - 4pm in term time

Our opening hours change in the vacations. We will give details of our vacation opening times on this page.

  • Information on student funding

If your query is complex, we may need to book you a longer appointment for further advice.

You might need to book a full appointment for:

  • Academic appeals
  • Preparing a visa application
  • Access to Learning Fund applications
  • Complex budgeting advice
  • Checking tenancy agreements and complex housing advice
  • Complex student finance problems

Cancelling an appointment

Please make sure if you need to cancel an appointment with an adviser you do this in good time using the contact details below. The appointment can then be reallocated to another student.

Phone; 01227 827724

In person; Advice Centre, Mandela Building.

Unfortunately, as result of a high number of students missing their appointments, we have had to adopt a strict booking policy during this busy term. If you cancel without giving more than 24 hours’ notice, or do not turn up for an appointment, we may not be able to offer you another appointment until the Duty Adviser has seen you to decide if an appointment is required. This is to ensure that all students have the opportunity to book a first appointment with us.
