The University of Kent and recognises that care leavers face varying challenges when entering higher education and, therefore, offers support from the pre-entry stage right through to graduation and beyond. They have addressed some of the issues by putting a comprehensive entitlement package in place. The package aims to address some of the specific requirements that care leavers may need help with when entering university. Student Finance England also produces a Factsheet for Care Leavers which contains information about how to apply for the funding you are entitled to.
The Care Leavers Association is a valuable source of information that is specifically relevant to young people who are about to leave care, as well as advice for or those who have already left and continuing with their education.
